“Celebrate Recovery,” a Christian recovery program, meets from 7 to 9 p.m., Mondays, at Mendham Hills Community Church on Route 24, Mendham. The program offers a safe environment to find healing for grief, divorce, substance abuse, co-dependency, childhood trauma, financial insecurity and more, a statement said.  Dinner is served at 6 p.m. for a minimal cost. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, will be the topic at 7 p.m. at the Mendham Borough Library, 10 Hilltop Road, Mendham Township. The speaker will be Katherine Woodfield Hermes, author of “Don’t Buy that Health Insurance: Become an Educated Health Care Consumer.”  She will discuss the policies and changes to healthcare and Medicare that have resulted from Obamacare.  She also will outline who will qualify for health insurance subsidies.  To register for programs, call (973) 543-4152.

A knitting workshop is planned for 10 a.m. and again on Thursday, Jan. 30, At the Mendham Borough Library. 10 Hilltop Road, Mendham. Knitting expert Karen Bailey will lead the sessions to get started on the basics, including the knit stitch and purl stitch.  Visitors should bring their own knitting needles.  To register for programs, call (973) 543-4152.

Breakfast with unlimited portions will be served from 7:30 a.m. to noon at Bernay’s Apgar American Legion Post 342, 333 Route 24 East, Chester. The menu includes pancakes,  French toast, sausages, eggs to order, hash browns,  Danish, juice, coffee,  tea and hot chocolate. Admission is $6 for anyone 12 and older; $3 for children 3 to 12; and under 3, free.
